Congressman
Duncan Hunter Is Running For President
Bronze Star awarded
Vietnam Veteran, Congressman Duncan Hunter has been a Republican member of the House of Representatives since 1981.
In
1980, Hunter was recruited to run for Congress in what was then the 42nd District against 18-year incumbent Democrat Lionel
Van Deerlin. Van Deerlin had been the district's only congressman since its creation in 1963.
Hunter was initially an underdog. He was one of many Republicans swept into office from historically Democratic districts
as a result of the "Reagan revolution".
In his district, Hunter consistently gets over 60% of the Hispanic

Duncan Hunter received
a Bronze Star for his service in 24 helicopter combat assaults. His own son has already served two tours
in Iraq in the U.S. Marine Corps.

(24/7) in a Vietnamese peasant-farming village. At times, there were only four (4) Americans in a village of 2,000
homes.
Jack is holding his M-79 grenade launcher.
The weapon was nicknamed "The Blooper" because of the sound the weapon made, when it released a round.
